My grandma was right about me… until she wasn’t

Easter Sunday. 2019. The kids were with their Mom. I was alone. Hungover. Again. I was miserable the kids were doing Easter without me. So what did I do? I went in the backyard, and started trimming the bushes (honestly). As I was trimming away I had this thought... "Maybe I can go 30 days without booze". Something I had attempted 238x in the past. And always failed miserably. My grandma used to say, “That boy has a lot of quit in him.” She wasn’t wrong. I didn't trust myself. At all. I...

Yesterday, I sent an email about a comment I got on IG. Made an offer at the end. Saturday's email? It was about how Michigan got curb stomped by that team in Ohio. Then made an offer. Friday's email? How I took the kids to Wendy's to get $0.67 Frosty (IYKYK). Made an offer. That's by "stupidly simple" business model: Skill #1: Tell storiesSkill #2: Make offers That's it. No funnel that looks like the team at NASA built it. No team of 17 VAs spread across the globe. Just stories + offers....

I got a comment on IG this morning about The Offer Wizard™ So you're selling people a wizard to create their own digital product? It's a a great question, let me explain... I've had 100s of conversations over the last year with Creators. They think they have a sales problem. They don't. I find more have an offer or a messaging problem. Sometimes, a combo of the two. They're solving too many problems, or not a specific problem, or it sounds like every other offer, or it's vague/general, or the...

I read 2 posts on Facebook from guys who've earned millions selling information (courses) online. James Kemp. Scott Oldford. Both smart dudes with a decade+ experience selling online. They were sharing their thoughts on where the industry is heading. Here's the gist... Scott said courses are dying, then dropped the obvious... Nobody wants to go through more training He's 100% right. People are overwhelmed. Tired. Burned out from a 37 module course with 83 bonuses. They want clarity, speed,...

Michigan played that team from Ohio this morning. I had little expectations for today's game. Michigan's not exactly a good team, regardless of thier recod. They lost 27 - 9. Closer than I thought, honestly. The wild part? Tomorrow marks six straight years since that team in Ohio last beat Michigan. Six! Nothing lasts forever, right? Most people cling to streaks way too long (I'm SUPER guilty of this) Winning streaks. Losing streaks. "I'll start Monday/next month/year" streaks. "I'll get...

We took the kids to Wendy’s today. Why? Because they had Frostys on sale for $0.67 (Black Friday special) 6...7... If you have kids, you get it. If you don’t have kids, you’re probably lost. I ain’t even gonna waste your time. I saw an ad for the Black Friday special earlier this week. Told the kids I'd take them. The first thing they said to me this morning... "Dad, are we still going to Wendys?" Us adults can forget how simple joy can be. A cheap Frosty. On a Friday (no school). Yet, we...

I had a customer hit me up on Volley about shiny object syndrome. Here's what I told him... You start with a plan. You feel good. You take action. Then you see Sally Sue who's smiling on Instagram, sipping a latte, showing off how she made $7 in 23 minutes doing something that looks far easier than what you're doing. So you jump ship. You now follow Sally Sue's plan. Two weeks later... You see Steve over on Tik Tok with a big ol' grin doing something that appears even faster and cleaner and...

I love Threads. It takes me 2.7 seconds to throw out random ideas. I never know if it's gonna be genius or garbage, but Threads let's me know pretty quickly. If it lands...I quadruple down on that idea/topic. If it flops? I pretend like it didn't happen like that one time I rocked a mullet in 2010 (no joke). I think it looked majestic! Anywhooo... Lately, I've been yapping about a topic that keeps hitting. Most people, yes, sometimes, even the one's under your own roof, don't actually want to...

I learned something wild at church today. I volunteered for the first time this morning. They put me on parking lot duty. I waved people in, smiled, and directed them where to park. Before we started, the leader shared an interesting study. “When someone visits a church for the first time…they decide within eight minutes of pulling into the parking lot whether they’re ever coming back.” I find that fascinating. Eight. Freaking. Minutes. Before the music, sermon and anything meaningful...

I'm not good at emailing on Saturdays. I dropped the ball last Saturday. And again today. I missed my 4:15 time to send out my email. No excuses. Anywhooo.... Vegas has been acting like Seattle all week. Mid 40s. Rain. gray skies. But I still clocked 12,613 steps yesterday. 591 straight days of walking 10k+ steps (missed 3 days total). There are plenty of days I don’t want to walk. Like yesterday. 47 & rain. It’s something I do. It’s who I am now. I started that streak back when I was driving...
