I read an email from Ben Settle this morning. He's arguably one of the best email marketers in the whole wide world. He emails daily, and I've been on his email list since 2013ish. Ben is on my Mt. Rushmore of Online Entrepreneurs that I follow in this space. In today's email, he shared his thoughts on the "fate of the IM world" (IM = Internet Marketing) With all the AI stuff, many people are feeling the pinch (sales aren't coming as easy as they once were). He ended the email with his advice he's shared 70-11 times in the past... ...paraphrasing a bit.... "Build your email list. Email your list offers." It ain't flashy, or s3xy, but it's worked for the last 25 years online. Kinda ironic reading his email since just yesterday... I launched an ads campaign yesterday. Not to generate sales, but to generate leads. I never run lead gen campaigns, only straight to sales page ads. However, running sales campaigns takes work. And a ton of testing. I wanted to run something more "set and forget". And that's what this lead gen campaign is designed for. Set it up, and let it run in the background. I'm only spending $20/day, and likely won't increase it much from there. I ain't gonna be split testing ads or anything like that either. I just want to add new peeps to my email list every day. It's early, but liking these results so far... I'm paying $1.61 per lead! I'm happy with anything under $3/lead. I've got one campaign going right now. Just being shown to people who've visited my website OR engaged with my content on n IG, so these people "know" who I am. This is a warmer audience. If you land on my website, Stan store or engage with any of my IG content, you're gonna see this one video ad that's working for me 24/7/365. These people get a 5 part welcome sequence. Then get tagged in my system to receive my daily emails. The more people on my list = The more money I make. If you loathe creating content and being on social media... This approach (running ads + emailing daily) would be a much less stressful approach. I know many who don't do social at all. These run ads to generate leads, then email their list daily. Some are doing $50,000/mo with that appraoch. Who knows.... Maybe I take that route in the coming months. I doubt it, as I truly do enjoy creating content. The game hasn't changed.
Ben's been saying it for 25 years. I've been saying it for the last few years. It doesn't matter if it's AI, algorithms, or whatever shiny new tool the Greedy Gurus drops next month... The fundamentals don't give a damn about trends. Simple is s3xy. YOU GOT THIS 🙌 In your corner, When you're ready, here are a couple of ways I can help you…

I got this message from a client this morning... "Btw, 8 sales today! $213 made 🚀" I built him a custom GPT as a front end offer, and another custom GPT for his order bump. He flipped ads on last week for the first time. 7 days in, and getting customers coming in while he's drooling on his pillow. He's got a platform that he sells, so we're feeding these customers into his software. Running ads isn't about profiting much on the thing you sell in the ad. The real money is what comes after....
Saturday was FUGLY. We lost our flag football game 28-2 (interceptions are worth 1 point each) It's been a rough season. The score was bad, but what happened after the game was pouring salt into the wound. I got approached by one of the kid's parents. They weren’t thrilled about their son’s playing time. Now here’s the kicker… We only had SIX kids show up. 5 are on the field at a time, so everyone played a lot. In fact, their son was standing alone in the endzone when the quarterback heaved...
Yesterday morning… I rolled over, grabbed my phone, and squinted at the screen like a caveman discovering fire. $247. At 4:14 AM. Now, let’s be clear… I was NOT awake at that time. I was drooling on my pillow likely dreaming of being at an all-you-can-eat cheeseburger buffet. Meanwhile... Someone on my email list whipped out their debit card. Here's the thing... I looked up her email in my system. She joined my email list in March 2025 (13 months ago). She became a customer last June when she...
