What an 81 year old taught me in a sauna

We have a sauna here in our neighborhood.

It's gym, sauna, then I swim laps.

That be my daily routine.

Well, some of the older guys have been pouring water on the coals in the sauna. It's electric, so it doesn't work that way. The sauna has been out of commission for several weeks now.

They finally fixed it on Thursday.

I was in a sauna for a few minutes by myself yesterday. A man walked in and sat down. I saw him in the sauna on Thursday. I see him walking daily in the neighborhood.

We got to talking. He walks to the gym daily and rides the exercise bike then sits in the sauna. I live a half mile from the gym. He lives down the street from me, and a bit further from the gym. I'd guesstimate 3/4 of a mile from the gym.

"How old are you?" I asked him.

"81" he replied.

"You look fantastic!" I replied.

He does. And here's the part that stuck with me. He lives alone. Three kids, four grandkids, all in California. Nobody's checking in on him daily, nobody's driving him to the gym, nobody's making him show up.

He shows up every damn day. Putting in the work at 81. Walking 3/4 of a mile, rides the exercise bike, sits in the sauna and walks home.

Reminds me of what we do online. I see many ( and I have been guilty of this 70-11 times myself) fail because we jump from idea to idea or platform to platform or offer to offer or business model to business model before the daily reps have time to compound. A new system/offer/biz model/content strategy/platform/FILL-IN-THE-BLANK. Never in one place long enough for anything to gain traction and build momentum/confidence.

Ali, the 81 year old man, isn't doing anything complicated. He does one simple thing every single day, and he looks like he's in his early 60s.

It might be painfully boring from the outside, but damn is that the recipe for success in anything in life. Doing the damn work day in and day out that leads to massive success, happiness and fulfillment.

Ava, Ashton, my parents and myself went to Chick-fil-A for lunch today. We got there around noon, and the place was packed. No surprise. The staff running around with smiles and trays in each hand, saying, "my pleasure" like they meant it. As my Dad was wiping salt off his hands from the waffle fries, I got to thinking about Chick-fil-a's operation. They sell chicken. Nothing else. Sandwiches, nuggets, strips, delicious waffle fries and milkshakes. You ain't gonna find burgers, tacos,...

On Wednesday, I told you I took the feedback I got from MonetizedOS and rebuilt it into something simpler, more powerful. It's called Jax. One AI, one conversation. You tell it what you're building, an offer, your story, your voice, your sales page, and it builds it with you, right there in the chat. No picking between nine different tools anymore. No figuring out which one solves your problem before you've even started. I'm also reviving the Skool community, 3 Hour Creators. I dropped the...

Conor McGregor waited 5 years for last night. His leg snapped in half in July 2021, and hasn't fought since. A civil case, and hundreds of headlines claiming "he's done". He walked down the aisle at T-Mobile arena (about 20 minutes from Chateau de Dukes). He threw an awkward flying leg kick to start the fight and fell down. He tried the same kick seconds later, and fell down again. The fight lasted 69 seconds. The ref waived his hands when Connor's leg buckled while walking toward his...
